Usually this would be the type of movie we would go to see, but I haven't been overly motivated. I read a lack luster review and I don't know anyone who has seen it.
Have any of you seen it and if so, what did you think?

yeah I saw it and enjoyed it. Admittedly if someone said I will give you 1 Kate Beckinsale vampire movie I would choose Underworld. Van Helsing still has it's merits tho' it is a great homage to those classic monster flicks it sorta combines that Old time B gradiness with state of the art coolness. So yeah see it its probably better on the big screen than on dvd. Oh and if you've seen the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust anime you'll probably notice some cool slightly ripoff scenes.
Excuse any spelling mistakes I'm kinda tipsy *hic*

Saw most off it (Missed the last twenty minutes as the projector bulb blew and they didn't have a spare....)
What I saw of it was good, Effects weren't bad, Kate moodily pouting again.
I'd spend another ?5.00 on it to see the end BUT I don't think it will transfer well to DVD, Deff a Big Screen movie.

The end totally killed the movie for me. I was groaning about it for days. Ah, well. Kate was hot, and Hugh was cool. That was really the reason I went to see the film, so I got what I was looking for. Honestly, if it weren't for one major plot point, I really would have enjoyed the movie. It was an OK movie. There was just that thing that made my view of the movie completely plummet. If that hadn't been there, the movie would have moved way up in my esteem.
BTW, if you are a BIG fan of old movie monsters, you may not like it. They definately take liberties. Personally, I enjoyed it, but my friend that saw it with me was pretty pissed.
One odd thing to note... They apparently spent a lot of money on the credits, as many big SFX movies are want to do. The odd thing was that the fancy credits came at the end of the movie, not the beginning.

Wow, I asked the same question on siplist and one other board and got no replies in the positive. A lot of people seem really disappointed in this movie.
Good to see at least some people enjoyed it.

DO NOT go and see Punisher, It is a big pile of POOH.
The one with Dolph was better (And that is saying something).
